Review of Opaque

"Opaque" by Calix Leigh-Reign is an exciting young adult sci-fi novel that follows the journey of Adam, a lonely teenager who discovers he has supernatural powers. Adam comes from a line of Russian descendants, easily recognizable by their glowing Limbal Rings. Unfortunately, these descendants are in constant danger from The Iksha, a group of elite scientists determined to eliminate them.
The story starts with Adam grappling with the chaos of his life, grieving his father's death and experiencing strange visions. When he meets Carly, a new student with Limbal Rings like his, Adam's life takes an unexpected turn. Carly helps him understand his abilities, and together they must confront the Iksha and protect their bloodline from extinction. "Opaque" is a fast-paced and gripping read, packed with action, suspense, and a touch of romance. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the plot keeps you hooked with its surprises. The book also delves into important themes like family, loss, and finding one's identity.
