The Crystilleries of Echoland, by Dew Pellucid is an action-packed novel for teens and young adults. We begin by meeting Will and his pet wolf and falcon. Will's family is depressed and ignores him most days. Will's sister was taken many years ago, and they haven’t gotten over it. One day Will meets a boy and girl that he can see through, they are his pet wolf and falcon. They tell him that they are his protectors and have been for 10 years. Willis freaked out and doesn’t believe what was going on. He is told that he needs to go to Echoland and save the prince. It is a very hard and painful journey to get to Echoland, but he does finally make it. Now he’s undercover and staying in an orphanage. He meets friends and someone that he never thought he’d see again. Will finds the Prince and together they go and look for a secret passage to mushrooms. They find it, but they can’t get it open, so they leave. Will goes back to the orphanage, and the prince heads back to the castle. What is the connection between Will and the Prince? Is Will’s sister still alive? Is his new friend worthy of his trust? Find the answers to all these questions by reading this novel.

I enjoyed this novel. What I liked, was the fast-paced nature and the descriptive characters. I truly was rooting for Will, the entire time. The author did a great job of making me fall in love with certain characters and dislike others.

What I didn’t like about this novel. I wasn’t a fan of will loving and caring for two pets that have been dead for 10 years. And I never really understood how children could get into Echoland but not get out. Plus why did every child have to have a pet?

I give this novel a, 5 out of 5. I believe it was professionally edited and had no grammatical errors. I mainly give this review because I enjoyed the novel and would read it again.

In my opinion, this novel is best suited for teens and young adults. There are a few graphic scenarios, but not many. There was no vulgar language or sexually explicit content in this novel. This is probably not a novel for school but great for an extracurricular.

In conclusion, I truly enjoy the novel and will read it again. There weren’t many things I disliked. I give a 5 out of 5 rating and is best suited for teens and young adults.
