I would rate this book 4 out of 5.This book will take you on a fantastical and mystical journey to foreign lands. The story had some fun twists and turns. Moving between scenes makes it interesting. Holds adult attention while still appropriate for young readers. Little comments made by characters really make them have personalities. The unique characters will keep you fascinated and are unlike any you've ever read about in a book. Howl, the boy wizard is a force!
Great book for middle-school, high school readers. Or anyone that wants to be transported!.This is a might thick fantasy adventure and the main plot and the characters are good as well as the dialogue. I love a good fantasy story and this book has it all. D.R. Martin has created a detailed world rich with history, culture, magic, and a refreshing spin on the concept of man vs nature. The plot has twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end and leave you wanting more. The numerous illustrations throughout the book are done by the author himself and really bring the story to life. A must read for fantasy enthusiasts of all ages.A story of war between human anthromorphized animals. The author's focus jumps around and because of that this is a little hard to follow. He uses a convention of introducing new character names in all capital letters that was off putting to me.At times I think there is a little to much going on but again it was some solid story telling. I would recommend this to anyone that loves reading fantasy. I would also recommend a version of the book without the images and maybe just write out the reports of the information that the author wants to provide the reader. DR Martin has set the bar high in this fantasy tale woven as intricately as a tapestry. He masterfully takes us on a journey through distant lands and seas, bringing characters to life in endearing and often unexpected ways. Looking forward to reading Book Two.Overall I enjoyed the read
