The adventure novel Island Games by Caleb J. Boyer is a thrilling tale set on a remote island. On this island, a group of four teens goes on a camping trip, only to find themselves caught in a chaotic island game set up by a mysterious figure. As they become embroiled in the mysterious game, they must navigate the dangers that lurk around every corner and find a way to survive.

The first positive aspect of Island Games is the captivating plot. The story starts off with a group of teens, but quickly evolves into an adventure of life-or-death. This thrilling tale is full of suspense, intrigue, and danger, and it is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Second, the characters in the novel are well-developed and dynamic. Each of the four teens is distinct and has their own unique development arc. Other characters that are introduced throughout are equally compelling and make the story even more exciting.

Finally, the prose in Island Games is excellent. Boyer's writing is vivid and descriptive, and it enhances the atmosphere of danger and suspense. The story unfolds with each chapter and builds up to a climactic ending.

The only negative aspect of the novel is that the pacing is slow in the first half of the book. While the slow build-up is necessary to set the tone and introduce the characters, it can be a bit of a slog to reach the more exciting and thrilling moments of the novel.

I recently read Island Games by Caleb J. Boyer and it was an enjoyable book. In it, two boys find themselves transported to a mysterious island and must find their way back home. It is a thrilling adventure full of mystery and danger, as the boys must find a way to navigate through the island’s obstacles to return home.

I’d rate Island Games 4 out of 5 stars. It was a action-paced and fun read and I really liked the mystery aspect of the book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to figure out what the island’s secrets were and what the boys needed to do to get home.

I would recommend Island Games to middle grade and young adult readers who enjoy adventure stories. It is full of exciting challenges for the boys to solve and the book does a great job of keeping the reader hooked to find out how it all ends.
