This is a wonderful journey into another world with magical powers and adventure. Grace Blair really puts you in different time periods with such clarity that it’s like you’re there. It has elements of history, religious moments, magic, the metaphysical, science fiction, and fantasy. Anyone who gravitates to mysticism, time travel, and other spiritually based readings will get a lot of joy out of reading this book, as it seems perfect for that audience. It’s a nice introduction to spirituality for young adults because it’s wrapped in historical fiction which is easy to relate to its characters. I love that numerology and other symbolism is woven throughout this book’s tale of adventure.

I had some difficulty getting to understand the different characters in the prologue as two of the names were a little too similar for me. There are some parts that a little violent, nothing too graphic, but still kind of shocking to read at times.
Once you get to the main story with a young Albert Einstein, it gives you a rare glimpse into his childhood and youth. The author takes you on a unique journey of his life filled with awkward moments as it’s clear the Albert Einstein is unlike anyone else. It’s heartwarming to see his parents love for him and his friendship with Johann Thomas.

There are many moments where Einstein is able to experience extraordinary moments that lead him to where he is meant to be. No one else around him seems to have the same experiences or powers that he possesses. All the while there is an even greater threat than one of his peer’s bullying him relentlessly. A threat that is evil and dark and wants to take Einstein’s beloved gift he received from his father.

I really grew to love this book and Albert Einstein’s life and story. I wanted only good things for him and for him to remain safe and protected from any nefarious creatures. This is a compelling and engaging story for anyone who loves historical fiction with elements of magic, mysticism, and all things spiritual. It’s not your typical young adult fiction. This is rooted in history, science, mathematics and more. I would highly recommend this book as I found that once I started to read more about Einstein’s life the more my genuine curiosity and interest grew. It was hard to stop reading at times because I just wanted to find out what happened next. I give it a 4 out of 4.
