The cover is beautiful but I do not think that it is fitting for this book. The Secret of Magic by Natassa Louppou.

Tania is a 12 year old girl who after her birthday party, she discovers the magicians suitcase from her party in her room. Tania is suddenly transported into different time periods.

I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. This book has great detailing, in some parts of the book it really makes you feel like you are in the book yourself. Throughout the book the author also includes very informative facts relating to who we meet. The Secret of Magic has quite a few very great lessons for young children. The reason why I give it a 3 out of 4 stars is because I feel like the story was rushed a little bit and I wished that it had taken more time to really delve into what was happening in the story.

I did notice that the genre states it is a young adult book. I do not see it as such. The way it is written and how the story flows is very much directed towards a younger children audience. The only reason I think it would be classed as Young Adult is because there was a swear word used in it twice. What I loved most was the history facts and the fact that it included translations to any sentence that was spoken in another language that was not English.

This book is well edited although I did notice one missing grammar mistake.

The thing that I liked most about this book was the lessons that Tania, the main character learned throughout the book. The thing that I disliked about the book was that it didn't explain the lessons with enough detail to have the young readers understand them.
