The Opaque: Scion Saga Book 1 by Cālix Leigh-Reign was simply amazing. I absolutely loved it to the point it was hard to put the book down. I would definitely give the book a four out of four. I wasn't able to find any typos, but it could have been because I was too immersed in the book to notice. I could on,u find one instance of vulgar language, but there was a massive amount of implied inappropriate or erotic thoughts, although nothing actually ever occurred.

The book follows a teenager named Adam. In the beginning he is a kid that clearly has a lot going on and doesn't know how to be himself around others. When he meets a girl named Carly everything changes for him. They end up falling in love, but then everything turns upside down for them. They experience quite a few devastating emotional losses, surprising secrets, and even a full-scale battle. In the end their love was able to conquer all and they became stronger than ever before, not just as a couple but individuals as well.

What I enjoyed the most about the book was the adventure hands down. I felt like I never knew what was going to happen next. I wasn't able to put the book down because I felt anxious to find out what was going to happen. The other thing I enjoyed about the book was watching Adam grow as a person. Being able to witness him come out of such a dark place with a huge wall up was amazing. I have never been able to experience that much of a transformation so quickly with a character before.

There wasn't much that I didn't enjoy about the book. I felt like it was brilliantly written, I couldn't find any errors in it and I didn't get bored with it either, which is a really good thing. If I had to pick something that I had trouble getting over about the book it would have been the cliffhangers. I still had a lot of questions about things that occurred at the end. Considering it is part of a series it was to be expected though, in order to compel readers into following the rest of the series.

In conclusion I definitely enjoyed the book. I thought it was absolutely flawless. The book could be a good read for anyone that is in high school or higher based on the maturity and vocabulary of the book. I feel like some middle schoolers would be able to read it as well depending on their maturity level. I would definitely read it again, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.
