Two Months and Three Days was overall an excellent book. Tatiana Vedenska wrote a stunningly raunchy book with emotional pull and raw sex appeal. This book was translated from Russian to English, however, so there were a few errors that I noted throughout the book, as well as some sentence structure choices that I felt detracted from the seriousness of the phrases. Maxim, the love interest of the book, was a very complicated character. While that lead to a very mysterious character, it did contribute some confusion as to his relationships with other people. Maxim’s relationship with Arina, the heroine, was clear, despite its complexity.

Vedenska uses exclamation points at the end of phrases that don’t need them. They tend to detract from the seriousness of what the person speaking trying to say. She does this constantly throughout the book. However, I was so captivated by this book that I actually bought the next book and started reading. Those mistakes were cleared up.

Also, Vedenska uses an exclamation point after a question mark a few times. This also detracted from the seriousness of the phrase. It made it seem like more of a text message than a line in a novel. The sentence structure was framed for a question mark. To illustrate exasperation, the character, Arina, should have taken an exasperated breath, or something along those lines.

Maxim’s relationship with his friends is a little confusing. He does seem to have animosity towards them, despite their being good friends to him. Also, Cassandra, one of Maxim’s friends, was shown as a scorned lover. She held an unrequited love with Maxim. However, when Arina came into the picture, she liked her. She claimed she would always be jealous of anyone who wanted Maxim, but she went out of the way to help Arina succeed.

Even with those mistakes and confusions, I still rate this book a four out of four. This book is excellent, especially for a translated book. It is like it was originally written in English. The character development was excellent. The characters were intense and multi-faceted. There were many different types of people in the book who helped shape it. As someone who is used to reading books narrated by English-speaking people, it was hard for me to grasp that the words the characters were saying were in Russian, that were translated to English. That being said, it’s was an interesting change of pace for me. The sex scenes were appropriately long while contributing to the story, and the constant movement captivated me as I read the novel.
