Heartaches 3 – Bad Boy Vibes is the concluding and final book in the Bad Boy Vibes trilogy. The book resumes where it left off at the wedding preparation. Anna and Rafe both team up with some allies to prevent a pregnant Aunt Bella from getting married to Peter Preston. They score their first point in victory when they succeed in wrecking Peter Preston’s plan using his immorality as a weapon. Although they are aware that it is just a momentary victory and the real battle was yet to be fought and won. They may have prevented a strategy from falling through but punishing the culprits was not going to be as easy and they realize they would have to make sacrifices to finally get justice for themselves and for others who have fallen victim to the wickedness of their oppressors as well.

Irwing established very strong themes in this book which center mainly on love, trust, friendship, justice and at some point in the book forgiveness. Another important part pertaining to this book is the incredible growth of the characters. Compared to the first two books, the characters seem to be more mature in this book most especially Anna. In the first book, she was an insecure woman who was somewhat desperate for attention but reading about her character in this book was astounding. Her courage to dive into dangerous situations without even knowing what was to be expected was commendable. Pat is another character who was initially afraid of coming out to his parents about his sexuality, his boldness to actually inform his parents of his plan to wed his lover says a lot about his character development.

Having read the first and second book in the series what I like most about this book is the fact that Anna and Rafe were able to get justice for themselves and use that as a propellant to move forward and leave their dark past behind them. Also, despite the fact that Anna and Rafe were bonded by similar traumatizing experiences, they were able to create something beautiful and their love was born in the midst of all their pain, hatred and anger. They got their happily-ever-after and they were united as a family.

I don’t dislike anything in this book although I would have liked for it to have had a more dramatic ending because personally, I think death was an easy price to pay for Peter Preston and Eric Dayton and they should have been made to suffer but on a second thought, I think Anna and Rafe would feel more at ease knowing they were never going to see their faces again. All the same, the ending was well satisfying.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because apart from having a well-detailed plot, good grammar and most of all being entertaining, it actually gave the characters the ending they deserved.
