Is it possible to love more than one person at a time? One person that feeds your soul and the other that feeds your body? Could meeting someone in the least likely of places, a kind gesture, and a similar interest open the door to life fulfilling happiness even if that's with the person you didn’t marry?

I got captured in this story of two people, married and unhappily in love in their own relationships, but find something in each other that they never knew could exist. They certainly were not finding it in the people they married.

One of my favorite developments of this story is how it tells both sides of each character's story. It’s always the lingering question.. How did the characters get to the point of infidelity? The author didn’t paint a one way picture of Ellie and Neil. I came to understand what each other saw in the other that was so life fulfilling for them. I understood why their marriages weren’t working out. At first I felt sad for Faye and then I was rooting for her in the end, hoping for her happiness!

I appreciate how the author made me feel for the characters. She painted a beautiful picture on the ups and downs the couples went through in their relationships and really made me feel like I was listening to someone's true story. The dialogue felt real between the characters. The characters were trying to make sense of their own feelings while trying to balance their marriages.

I liked that it was an easy to read, complex story that wasn’t drawn out. I didn’t get lost in the details but I felt like I had enough to paint the pictures of each character's trepidations. There were lots of complicated emotions portrayed and developed as Ellie and Neil try to navigate through the feelings for each other and for the people they married. It’s a love story that doesn’t start in bed but in their brain.

The narration of this story is smooth and easy to listen to.
