My Trip to Adele is a fictional romance novel written by co-authors and siblings, Rana and Ahmad Alyaseer. The siblings are huge fans of the performer Adele, which is obvious throughout the book and even by its title alone. After attending Adele's 2016 concert in Verona, Italy, they were inspired to write this book. They also love Adele's album, 25, and they use the titles of the album's songs as titles for the chapters in the book. Every chapter also ends with lyrics from the song used as that chapter's title.

In My Trip to Adele, three different stories are told simultaneously. While they are separate stories, planning a trip to the Adele concert in Verona ties them together. The stories also have the common theme of the human desire to live in absolute freedom: physical, mental and emotional. Each story centers around the protagonist's search for some type of freedom in life, each in his or her own way and with his or her own goals.

The book begins with the story of a man who travels from his home in Italy to Marrakesh to free himself of memories of a lost love. Although unsuccessful in finding her, he is reminded that he promised to reunite with her someday at an Adele concert. The next story is about a man searching to be mentally free from his wife's control. At their marriage counselor's suggestion, they planned a trip to the Adele concert to revive their marriage. The third story is of a single-mother seeking freedom from the control of an abuse ex-husband and cultural traditions. She plans to travel freely, for the first time, with her young son and take him to the concert for his birthday.

I enjoyed reading this book; it is an entertaining, easy and quick read. Reading three different stories at the same time keeps the book interesting. The authors did a good job of transitioning from one story to another. They also did an excellent job of relating the stories to the songs on Adele's album 25. The song lyrics at the end of each chapter were appropriate and relevant to the events that occurred in the chapter.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The main reason I did not gibe the nook a perfect score is the editing. Even though the book was written in Arabic, a better job could and should be done editing the English translation. Regardless, I would not hesitate to recommend this book, especially to anyone that is a fan of Adele and her music.

I am not an Adele fan and know only one of the songs (Skyfall) featured in the book. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the book immensely. I laud the siblings for their creativity and sensitivity. They elevated fan art to a new level. I only hope that Adele will soon acknowledge their effort and allow the book to thrill more readers.

Great summary of the book. I like how you quickly describe all three of the plots. The use of the Adele's work, mainly song titles and lyrics, has me wondering what kind of permissions the authors obtained from the singer before publishing this novel.

Enjoyed your review. I also laud the authors for this idea of writing a book around Adele's songs. It was very interesting. I like your comments the personal search of each of the main characters for freedom. Nice job.
