A political rally, held by an imprudent governor, takes a violent turn and results in supporters storming the Michigan State Capitol. The stampede resulted in the death of a young woman. A distraught father and an up-and-coming lawyer, Andrea Kramer, seek to avenge the young woman’s death by making sure that justice prevails. In Mark M. Bello’s legal romance book, Love Hate Law, we see how this event leads up to Andrea meeting her future love interest, Michael O’Hara, who is a pompous, renowned defence lawyer. As they butt heads in court, we see how their passions transcend the courtroom. Though they are on opposite sides of the legal spectrum, they manage to be united in more ways than one as they embark on their future endeavours and their love story.

This book was more enjoyable than I expected it to be. The momentum of the plot was maintained throughout the entire book. Despite the themes in the book, it had a lighthearted tone. A lot of humour was also added to the book. The characters are realistic. I like the fact that it was quite unpredictable. I was especially surprised by the ending.

I don’t think there was anything to dislike about the book. Though there were sensual scenes and foul language was used, it wasn’t overly explicit and vulgar.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It was beautifully written. It had a great balance of suspense, humour, drama, romance, and lawfulness. It was an easy and entertaining read. It was exceptionally edited as well.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance. Those interested in crime books would also enjoy this book. Due to some of the content in this book, it is more suitable for an adult audience.
