Aria Longbottom got dumped five years ago by her boyfriend Dale Carmichael, who has been cheating on her with her cousin Linda. Not only was she completely shocked by this admission, but also he broke the news to her before a New Years masquerade hosted by the rich and handsome Jason Kay. That doesn’t end the surprises for her that night, however, because none other than Jason begins flirting with the curvy heroine. After a long night of passion Aria runs out with the mask still in place.

Returning to present day, Aria goes to Jason’s office to argue about work but the chemistry is still there between them and they begin to kiss heavily. At this perfect time, his mom walks into the office and tells them they should get married since they get along so well and have known each other for years. Due to a clause in his father’s will, Jason needs to marry before the age of 30 in order to get the money from his father, not that he needs it being a self made millionaire as well. Aria is already in love with him so she agrees, although she goes back and forth a lot in the book. While at her engagement party she runs into Linda and Dale who are married now, not wanting to talk to them she runs away with Jason following her.

I rated Marrying a Playboy Billionaire by H.M. Irwing a 3 out of 4 for many reasons. There weren’t many grammatical errors, only one that brought be out of the story because it was pretty obvious. I feel like the rate of the book was hurried, I would have much rather preferred to have more details than feel like parts of the story were incomplete. I also would have preferred a better thought out title to the book because it sounds like a lot of others, this would also help it stand out more on the bookshelves.

That being said, Aria is a fun character with real problems that most of us face sometime in our life, minus being pursued by a billionaire. She is confident on the outside and is faced with challenges along the way while still trying to find her self. I enjoyed the fact that Aria was able to make fun of her last name as well as the funny nicknames she has for some of her coworkers. I found myself cheering her on along the way in all her decisions. And you will want to help her whenever Dale comes back into the story or her mom doesn’t support her.

Do not be fooled by the short prologue! It is an important part of the story but the reason why does not get revealed until a few chapters later. I skimmed through it the first time but ended up rereading it when the truth was unveiled.
