The Legacy of Job's wife by Cynthia J. Koelker is a work of fiction and a romance novel that explores themes of survival, love, perseverance, humility, kindness, sufferings, forgiveness and Jealousy of the human heart. The story is a fictional work of the story of the wife of Job in the bible. The protagonist who is Job's wife by the name of Ix'ises, narrates her story from her childhood with Job, her family and their traditions and also the family of Job.

Ix'ises is a woman who goes through series of devastating losses and a crisis of faith. But even as she struggles with her grief and questions her husband's beliefs, with the help of her brother,B'nahram, and support of her husband, Job, she finds a way to persevere and eventually finds hope and strength. Her husband Job is a mam whose faith in God and love for his family was so strong it could pull a rock. He is a kind man to all but at his time of need , those he supported and helped cast him away and mocked him. There are other characters in The legacy of Job's wife who were important and performed important roles.

Job was my favorite character in the book. I admired his faith for God, love for his family, wisdom, hardwork and gentleness. One particular attribute that stands out is the way he never forced his wife to conform to his beliefs and never got angry at his wife even when she castigated him for his beliefs and sometimes doubted him but loved her and handled her with gentlessness. I also admired his faith and trust in God.

The pacing of the story is excellent with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that keeps the reader eagerly turning the pages. The author skillfully conveyed every emotion each character displayed and expressed them in a way the reader could fully understand and relate to the characters' emotions. Cynthia J.koelker's writing style is engaging making the book a highly enjoyable read. The prose is descriptive and not overly verbose.

I enjoyed this book soo much that I have nothing negative to say about it. It was an enlightening read. There were absolutely no error as this book was thoroughly edited.

I would rate the book a 5 out of 5 stars because it was a very thrilling read and also emotional book, it encompasses the whole meaning of love and perseverance. It gave me a better understanding of how people have theor different way of handling grief and we should all respect that. Despite the immense suffering she experiences, the protagonist never loses her spirit or her will to live. She finds strength in her family. She discovers that even in the midst of tragedy, there is still hope. Her story is one of resilience and determination, and it is sure to touch the hearts of readers everywhere.

I'd recommend this novel to people dealing with depression, heartache, and loss as reflected by the characters in The legacy of Job's wife .
