The Binding Stone by Liz D. Marx is a thrilling fantasy novel that takes readers on a journey through a magical world full of danger and adventure. From the very first page, readers are immediately drawn into a captivating story filled with powerful magic, epic battles, and complex characters.

The book follows the story of young mage Destin, a member of the Order of Mages tasked with protecting the Binding Stone the very first page, the author grabs your attention and immerses you into the story, keeping you hooked until the very end.

The story revolves around the main character, Kiri, who possesses a unique power to hear the thoughts of animals and communicate with them. However, her gift has made her an outcast in her village, and she feels lost and alone. But things take a dramatic turn when she uncovers a conspiracy to overthrow the kingdom, and suddenly she is thrust into the heart of a dangerous mission to save her people.

One of the best things about The Binding Stone is the world-building. The author has created a rich and imaginative world that is full of magical creatures, mysterious forests, and ancient ruins. The descriptions are vivid, and the attention to detail makes it easy to picture this fantastical world in your mind.

The characters are also well-developed and complex, particularly Kiri. She is a strong and independent protagonist who faces many challenges throughout the book but never loses her determination to do what is right. The relationships between the characters are also well-crafted, and the interactions between them are believable.

The plot is fast-paced and engaging, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. There are moments of humor and heartwarming moments that balance out the darker themes of the book.

Overall, The Binding Stone is an exciting and well-crafted fantasy novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. It has everything you could want in a good fantasy novel, from an imaginative world to well-developed characters and an engaging plot. I rate it 4 out of 5 as a very good read and I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good adventure story.
