Dreamer by Loretta Kendall is a riveting read. The author did an excellent job of entrancing this reader with her imagination and storytelling. The book tells the story of Luna and the road to discovering love and her special gift. Luna had some difficulty fitting in with the world around her and fought a continuous battle with self-esteem. She was labeled as special by those close to her but had a difficult time defining what special entailed. Luna was later introduced to some of her favorite wrestling stars and had major developments in her life that helped her better define what it meant to be special. As the storyline develops, readers walk the path with Luna as she learns what life can offer when you don’t give up on your dreams.

There are several positive aspects of the book that stand out to me. The author’s ability to incorporate romance, the paranormal, and wrestling captivated me. I was intrigued when previewing the book, and the author did not disappoint. She helped the reader to feel as if they were living the story and experiencing the different scenes with Luna, from the excitement of the wrestling matches to the disappointment of dealing with some relationships with others. This book is a page-turner. The story allows the reader to get caught up in the mystery of Luna’s gift and the suspense of what will happen to her as the story progresses. The ending was unexpected. I was thrown for a loop and had intense emotions related to how the story would conclude. The author was able to guide the book to a sensible closure leaving the reader anticipating the next edition.

There were not many negative aspects of this book. One thing that I felt took away from the book was the story's conclusion, which seemed hollow. Some portions of the storyline could have used a little more imagination and invention. This was more apparent at the conclusion of the story. The conclusion felt rushed. This did not take much away from the story since it was absolutely amazing.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. The storyline was amazing and entranced the reader throughout the story, but the ending felt rushed.

This book would appeal to adult readers who enjoy romance, wrestling, and paranormal stories. This book would also appeal to individuals who enjoy stories about paranormal origins and history.
