The Elephant Tooth of '95 A Story of Family, Romance and New Beginnings by Rana Baydoun is a humorous story of love and family. Noor Beyrouti is a young graduate of food technology and nutrition at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. Noor is a young lady that catastrophe has a way of finding its way wherever she is. One such trouble was when she almost blew up her departmental laboratory during a practical.

Noor was able to get a job at Daniel Co., a family company as a sales representative after she graduated. She enjoyed working at the company even though she hadn't made any sales when she first started her job. Noor started going with Toni, a co-worker, not long after she started working at the company, even though her parents advised her against the relationship, she continued her relationship with Toni. Unknown to Noor, Toni was already engaged to another woman, which made Noor heartbroken when she found out. Find more about Noor's adventure by reading this book.

I liked the author's style of giving each chapter theme music, and some of the chapters also had quotes. I enjoyed listening to all the songs, and I added them to my playlist. I also like the author's style of writing. I could create a vivid image of each character and relate well to them. The author also made an effort to warn the reader about sad scenes in the book, and those scenes were emotional, as she advised. It made me sad to see Noor deal with unhappy times.

I found nothing to dislike about the book. The book was written in a captivating way. It also has a rich and deep cultural setting that details the traditional life of the people of Lebanon. It also had some humorous scenes which made me laugh, and sometimes I wonder what it will be like to be in Noor's shoes and her cranky car. I also love Noor's character development. I learned from her that we only have to discover ourselves to find the greatness within us.

I rate this book four out of four stars because I enjoyed reading the book. I was able to form a vivid image of the happenings in the book while reading, which made it easy and enjoyable to read. Also, I found no grammatical errors while reading. This book is exceptionally well-edited.

I recommend this book to people who love reading about family, love, romance and new beginnings. It's also suitable for lovers of memoirs and young adults who are on a journey to self-discovery.
