Double Redemption by Francis Gene Collins is a romance novel focusing on two individuals Mike and Emma. They have both been through a lot of traumatizing events in their lives and are afraid to commit to love. Emma who has had a very bad experience with men her whole life is not ready to go through the same by loving Mike. She has been in an abusive marriage and also had a traumatizing childhood with her stepfather and she sees most men are a disappointment. Mike suffered a traumatizing moment in his life which he was not ready to share with anyone including his best friend Tom. This leads to him being emotionally closed off to everyone including Emma.

The part that I liked the most about the book was when Mike opened up to Emma about the hard time that he faced in his life. I also liked how hardworking the characters have been despite going through a lot in their lives, they were able to work through it and excel in what they do. I also liked their love for books and reading as this is what brings them together as well. The scenes in the book are very well written and they give out the emotion that they were intended to give.

What I did not like about the book was the abuse that Emma went through when she was a child, and nothing was done for her like being given therapy because she was just a kid. That part of her life was so traumatizing that she did not feel worthy of anything good in her life. Otherwise, the storyline of the book was amazing and also inspiring at the end.

The book inspires the reader to always excel at what they do no matter the circumstances. It also encourages the reader to always see the positive side of every negative situation they go through. The book also encourages reading more books either to pass time or for knowledge. I would recommend this book to young adults who like romance and also to older readers.

I give this book a 3 out of 4 stars because the book is exceptionally edited. After all, I did not find an error in the book. The humor among the characters is amazing and their bond as friends is exceptional. The storyline of the book is also amazing and the message that the book gives to the readers is inspirational.
