Future Plans is the second book in the Nubble Lighthouse series. It tells the story of Hazel, a single mother and flourishing entrepreneur living in Florida. There, she has built a life for herself and her daughter. All is going well and will continue to stay that way, or so she thought. Nothing prepares her for the event that will rock her world forever. Nothing prepares her for the kidnap of her little girl. How will she survive if she is unable to hold her little girl in her arms again? And why did the universe choose that period to bring a college fling into her life once again? What exactly has Emiline got to do with all of the things happening in her life? These are all questions whose answers can be found in the pages of Future Plans authored by Stacy Lee.

I am not a very big fan of romance. That means that I do not enjoy reading the lovey-dovey stuff that characterizes most romance novels. Whereas Future Plan contains a lot of that, it also contains a lot of action and suspense. The police chase that took place a few pages into the book got my blood pumping and my mind whirling with excitement. The suspense that was infused, as well as the fear that little Ellie would end up in a mess from which no one could pull her out, kept me on my toes [mentally] throughout this book. I loved the action, and this is my favorite or most liked feature in the book.

What I liked least is the fact that not much light was thrown on why exactly those behind the kidnapping did what they did. I would have loved a flashback showing how exactly the people behind the kidnapping drowned in the world of debt, which eventually led to them masterminding such a horrible act. I would have loved to have a peek into their minds and understand their fears and needs as much as those of Emiline and Hazel were shown. It is quite sad that the author did not see the need to show all of these.

I enjoyed reading this novel in the style that the author chose to write it in. She wrote everything in the present as if the characters were merely documenting their lives as they lived them, and not as if they were merely remembering the events that happened in the past. I also appreciate the fact that this piece was exceptionally edited and devoid of errors.

I love this book so much that I am willing to award it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars any day and any time. All the abovementioned qualities that I liked are responsible for the rating I have decided to give it. I wish we had gotten a better look into the minds of the villains, but that doesn't mean this book wasn't well-written.

In summary, I recommend it to readers that are in love with romance novels. This book will not fail in making your heart fuzzy with warmth, and you will have your fill of adrenaline-pumping action.
