Review of The Raven's Trail (Book 1)
The book The Raven’s Trail: Book 1 by Liz D Marx’s, tells a compelling story about two individuals enchanting love story. Throughout the book you are immersed in Native American history as Mason and Chole struggle to figure out what the stone really is. As the story continues, a bigger mystery evolves bringing the reader to be captivated by the mystery behind the stone and the legends. The Raven’s Trail: Book 1 digs deep into Native American culture and history to bring out a love story that involves mystery and a bit of thriller added to it.
This book does an outstanding job on keeping the reader very invested in the story. There are multiple different cliff hangers that force you to keep reading on. Along with the cliff hangers, the Author does a good job giving you enough detail to understand, but not enough to give away the mystery behind the story of Mason and Chole’s love story. Throughout the book multiple different details arise, giving the reader a little more information, but at the end of the book all the details are wrapped up. This book was very fun and interesting to read, would definitely recommend it.
The book did have some Native American language in it that was not completely transcribed to English. However, there is a glossary of terms to help the reader understand some of the language. The author did a good job of putting the longer sentences that were in Native American also in English, so the reader is able to understand. At the beginning of the book in the first few chapters you are little lost about what is happening, but you do not stay lost for long as the Author does a nice job giving you more information to clear up what is going on.
I would give this book 4 out of 4 stars. There was few to none grammatical errors in the book and clearly professionally edited. Liz D Marx’s does a phenomenal job keeping the reader hooked with all the cliff hangers and little details she gives out throughout the book. As well as, clearly explaining Native American culture to the readers, but still having it fit right in with the plot line.
This book would be a good choice for readers that like a romance story that is not just the typical cliché love story. Readers must also enjoy mystery and some thriller that is involved in a love story. I would also recommend readers to step out of their comfort zone as this book is not something I would have chosen for myself; however, I ended up loving the book.
