Review of Yesterday
Yesterday is a romance book written by Samyann. Amanda had only been employed to Plethora for a day when a terrible incident occurred and through her quick thinking, she managed to save officer Callahan’s life. However, to her own expense as she was injured in the process. Trying to make lemonade out of the current situation they start a friendship. However, they both feel drawn to an antique clock made in the 18th century and what is even uncanny; they have memories of each other but the incident was the first time they ever met. Mary Amanda’s godmother agrees to help both her and Mark (Callahan) to retrieve the past memories they had in a bid to decipher if they really had an intimate relationship in the past and now are reincarnated in the future as soul mates. Easier said than done, the couple faces a few mishaps and misunderstandings on their quest to unravel the mystery that surrounds their existence. Some themes explored in the book are: love, lust, determination and friendship.
I liked the the romance displayed in the book because it was so sweet and I couldn’t get enough of it. In addition, the characters were great and I liked how they gradually developed in the book. The plot was very interesting and filled with suspense from the first chapter until it ended on a high. The chapters were also short and spicy and always ended on a cliff hanger. Relevant expression of emotions and choice of words were also good.
There were no negative aspects of the book for me. This is because there were no loose ends left in the book as all my concerns were answered in the book. The book had a lovely ending and the events leading up to the ending were well calculated by the author and exceeded my expectations. I see myself reading this book over and over again.
I would give the book a rating of four out of four stars. This is because the book was everything and more that I had expected to see in a romance book. Well written and executed storyline, just the right amount of suspense and romance relevant and appropriate.
I would recommend the book to persons eighteen years and older. This is because the book contained sexual contents and a few swear words that are better suited for adult readers. I would also recommend the book to romance fans, fiction fans and persons who just want to read a well written book compact with mystery and suspense. My final recommendation is for persons to read the book with a dictionary to know the meaning of unfamiliar words used and a notepad so that they can take notes to do additional reading.
