Does the idea of reincarnation fascinate you? Do you believe in reincarnation? Do love stories make your heart go crazy? Then, Yesterday by Samyann is the book for you. It's a novel based on the reincarnation of two souls who keep finding one another and tell each other that they will love each other like they did today and 'Yesterday'.

The story is about a beautiful young woman Amanda Parker and a Chicago policeman, Mark Callahan who happened to have met accidentally while the latter saved the life of another. They both instantly felt a connection like they knew each other but everything in their gut tells them they haven't met before. Mark wants to know about Amanda but she won't let anyone else close to her as she has lost so many loved ones and she is not ready to face another tragedy in her life. She believes she will lose anyone she ever cares for and pushes Mark away. Amanda is enticed to a clock in an antique shop and brings it home. Mark tries to persuade her and believes they are meant for each other. With all logical possibilities ruling out, they try to unravel the connection between them by doing regression therapy with the help of Mary, who is Amanda's Godmother and also a psychiatrist. As Amanda revisits her past life, she is a very young girl named Bonnie and her past is set during The Great Chicago Fire and American Civil War in the 18th century. The story talks about both the present and past lives of Amanda. As they try to discover the truth of their spiritual connection: Will Amanda's fear of losing a loved one come true? Will Amanda and Mark find the true reason for their connection? To know you have to read this amazing tale of reincarnation.

It is a very delightful read with a beautifully crafted story. The characters are very appealing. One of many reasons why I loved the book is because of the mystery. The magic of mystery hooked me to the book until the last page was turned. The suspense of how the main characters are connected in the past life is very engaging and is very well kept throughout the plot. The fictional story which is set in real historical events - the American Civil War and The Great Chicago Fire is well-written and doesn't make you bored. The author had done an excellent job of describing the history and lives of people who had suffered during the civil war.

There isn't much to dislike about this book. The only thing where I had expected something more could have happened or written the plot differently is about the meeting between Amanda and Mark in the past. It was too quick and felt like a character just added to the plot with a very little background. As the story progresses, it's very obvious who Mark would be which Amanda hasn't recognised sooner. I wish there was more story developed to Mark's character in the past. Although his character was present since the young age of Bonnie, it wasn't shown brightly as it should have been. There were very few errors in the book which can be ignored.

Other than the above-mentioned point, I will still gladly rate it 4 out of 4 stars because of the storyline and the main characters. The past and present stories were written without creating any confusion while reading. I would like to recommend this book to all fictional and romantic lovers out there. I am sure you will love this book.
