Amanda, a young woman living in Chicago, unexpectedly saves Mark, a cop from a runaway train. Although Mark and Amanda have never met before, they have an unusually deep connection to each other. Amanda grows increasingly curious of why she has such an extreme connection to Mark when her godmother, Mary, suggests trying past life regression therapy. During the regression sessions, she learns of her past life as a young girl named Bonnie trying to escape the Civil War. Bonnie, as well as Amanda, lose people along the way and are forced to deal with the pain of loss.

Yesterday by Samyann will definitely be receiving four out of four stars from me. I am all for a good romance novel and Yesterday fit the bill. However, Yesterday is not only a romance novel, it also provided lots of historical references as it jumps back and forth between present day and Civil War days. The book was also extremely well-edited and allowed the reader to focus on the story and not the grammar.

One of the things I liked most about Yesterday is Samyann’s ability to make the reader feel as if they are in the story experiencing the same thing the characters are going through. Samyann’s paints such a great picture that the reader is pulled in to the story and becomes completely invested in the characters. There was nothing I disliked about the book. Samyann does a great job of keeping the story moving at a good pace which keeps the reader interested the entire time.

Whether from loss or betrayal, every woman, at one time or another, has had trust issues with men. This book is a great book to help a woman overcome her fears of moving on because something could go wrong. Yesterday shows the reader that not everyone is the same and there are people that will stick around and love you for your flaws. It is a great book to learn from.

Obviously, I would first recommend this book to those who love a good romance novel. Samyann works some historical references into the book without making the reader feel as if they are reading a history book making the story even more lovable. Honestly, this book would be a great read for anyone who wants an interesting, enjoyable read. I sincerely hope there will be a sequel to this book or a movie made involving this story line.
