High school is rapidly drawing to an end, and for Seryna, this means the opportunity to move to the city to start a new life in college. She wants nothing more than to break away from the confines of her small town. Seryna has always prided herself on being a strong and independent young woman. But a handsome and mysterious stranger is about to enter her life and change everything she holds dear and worked so hard to achieve. He claims to be an undercover FBI agent sent to investigate some residents in her town. Seryna has to choose between trusting the man she loves and betraying her family.

What I disliked most about this book is the strong disconnect from the leading characters. Kieran is too perfect and unrealistic. How does he manage to be everywhere at the slightest hint of danger? Furthermore, I feel like his character should have an alias since he is an undercover FBI agent. It would just make more sense with the narrative of the story. Seryna's personality comes across as fake and forced. She only starts living her life once Kieran enters the scene, and writes off her family shortly after. She understands right from wrong but seems to put herself in danger on purpose.

The plot seems to be overshadowed by Seryna and Kieran's relationship. Which, for the most part, is based on very little courtship and almost entirely on sex. Overall the reading experience was frustrating as there were many spelling errors, duplicate words, and repeated sentences.

There were some parts of this book that I liked, namely the very steamy and explicit sex scenes. Whatever mood you are in, this is certain to get you feeling randy. My only criticism would be to tone down the frequency slightly. The pace of the story is fast and to the point right from the first chapter.

The rating I am giving Perfect by D. D. Larsen is a 2 out of 4 stars. Primarily, for the reasons stated above, I think the book requires some additional revision. But it demonstrates decent potential. This story would appeal to a more mature audience as the profanity and erotic content, is substantial. I would also like to state that rape is not ok, no matter how innocent it seems. Therefore it shouldn't be treated as a slap on the wrist or swept under the rug.

Your summary made me interested in the book, however, it is a shame that the characters aren't that deep and the plot seems to revolve mainly around the romance. Thank you for writing such an honest review though!

Hi Ashley, thank you for the compliment. I was in two minds when I read it, I really wanted to like it more because it does have such great potential.
