Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by H. M. Irwing is a sequel of Little Lost Little Found. Story begins with a bit of thriller elements, as woman was found buried alive in a grave. That point marks the reunion of long lost siblings, Lucy and Blaise, who are the kids of a famous singer Knytte Star. After Lucy realized whom she thought is her kidnapper is actually her brother, she agrees to fake the victim and let Blaise collect ransom money. Blaise’s past is unknown to her, but she can sense danger and she seeks help from her birth father, Knytte Star, as she is afraid for Blaise’s life. As story develops, Lucy and Blaise are reunited with their father in his LA home, and the family member responsible for Blaise’s abduction is brought to justice.

After exciting opening, story slows down a little. Lucy encourages Blaise to follow her to Melbourne and meet his mother and the rest of the family. Life is going back to normal, Lucy is back to school and has time to deal with her feelings, as she is torn between Jace and Richard. It was a short break, as family encountered another drama, the abduction of her pregnant underage sister Cat by Saudi prince.

This book has elements of thriller, mystery, romance and drama. Great moral of the story is that the family is more important than anything else. Loving family is a safe harbor you can always go back to after all ups and downs in life. Education is an important aspect of this book as well, as we follow Lucy going back to school to become a lawyer, even though she is a talented singer, like her father. Writer is also exploring teenagers’ sexuality and consequences of unprotected intercourse.

What I didn’t like about the book is that the story is not developed enough. Lucy found Blaise after so many years, yet we don’t see much of Blaise towards the end of the book. Richard should be given more space in the story, to underline Lucy’s inner battle as she is discovering her true feelings towards Jace. It would be more enjoyable to read if the book was longer. I felt like the book was rushed, and that spoiled the overall impression.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. Did not give it 2 stars because the story is well thought. It keeps the reader interested, and holds the attention with well dosed mystery and drama. It’s a good weekend read. Did not give 4 stars because book seems rushed and unfinished. Writer used profanity words and book contains sex scenes , so it’s not suitable for younger readers.
