I just finished reading One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams and enjoyed every minute of it. In this story we are introduced to the Benedict sisters, four women that were born into excessive wealth but you still want to be best friends with. One Way or Another focuses on Calder Benedict, someone who loves her sisters completely and finds fault in most men.

Calder is instantly attracted to Adam upon first meeting. At first she thinks he is a bouncer at a club, then a painter in her home. She eventually finds out he is so much more and almost on a financial level similar to her own. She trusts him from the beginning and learns that he is not one that is after what he can gain from her like so many other men in her life... including her father.

The Benedict girls all have different fathers that don't seem very fatherly or like anyone you would want to meet. Their mother is always in love and completely smitten with any kind of attention. Within the love story of Adam and Calder a mystery begins to unfold with their mother's newest boyfriend who the Benedict sisters have all had negative encounters with. While Adam and Calder's story is a stand alone and one worth reading, the mystery that begins is not settled and you will need to keep reading the rest of the series to find out. Something I plan on doing.

What I liked most about this story was the chemistry between Adam and Calder. They were attracted to one another for sure from the beginning but didn't do anything about it until they developed a friendship. I liked that they didn't jump right into a relationship as so many characters tend to do. On the flip side, I disliked most was trying to figure out what Ingo was up to with their mother, Billie. We were given enough to know something was up but literally no clues as to where it might be heading until the very last page. I don't like to be left with more questions than answers. I have a feeling we won't know what is going on and how it will impact the Benedict sisters until the final book and maybe even the final page.

One Way or Another is well edited and a great read for anyone that enjoys a good contemporary romance. I would rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars as it is a great romance that leaves you wanting more from the Benedict sisters.
