Lost and Love: Thailand opens with our protagonist, Savannah, on the phone with an irate client while thinking her thoughts and not paying attention to the client. Having worked a few years at the call centre of an insurance company handling claims over the phone, she finds the job monotonous and boring. Things have become mundane at the home front too with a husband who's always working and never helping with domestic chores. To further frustrate her, he doesn't pay attention to her needs in the bedroom department either. Savannah is dissatisfied with her life so she takes action by persuading her husband to vacation in beautiful Thailand. Savannah intends to bring the sparks back in their marriage during this vacation, and she steps away from her usual conservative nature by purchasing sexy lingerie. Unfortunately, her husband's idea of bringing back the sparks is something beyond just lingerie. Regardless, Savannah is determined to resuscitate the marriage. This book takes readers through Savannah's journey of reviving her marriage in exciting Thailand, and the consequences that follow.

This book contains several elements with which I could relate, and I feel certain that readers will too. For instance: what can you do to rekindle the dying flames in your relationship? How far from your convictions would you veer to please your partner? Stella Knights answers some of these questions in her book. If you have ever wondered what constitutes dirty talk in the bedroom, you will find a few suggestions in this book. I have never had the honour of reading erotica but I don't imagine that it would be more explicit than Lost and Love: Thailand.

I enjoyed the body-positive messages in the book along with the subtle encouragement for women to embrace their sexuality and stop living for society's approval. Along those lines, our protagonist had these thoughts: "…let me be the woman I actually have always been. A woman who enjoys sexual expression without fear. A woman I've squashed and kept hidden away to please the man I married and keep society's judgements far away." In my opinion, women need to hear more of such messages. As long as no laws are being broken, society needs to treat women better. My favourite element of the plot was Savannah's arc from a mundane existence to an exciting life which few people get to experience.

People have diverse fantasies, but if you have ever worried that the repercussions for fulfilling them could be dire, this book is all the discouragement you need. Thankfully, you get to observe this downward spiral in the lives of a fictional couple while Stella Knights brings them to life through many adventures in Thailand. Worthy of mention is the author's recommendations for hotels, restaurants, and things to do while visiting Thailand. I know it will bring me pleasure to visit some of those places someday.

The conclusion was rather sudden, and I felt unsatisfied with it. I can't explain this without giving the plot away, but I would have preferred if the author set up the destination of Savannah's next adventure before ending the story. Regardless, it was exciting to be drawn into the character's journey, and I will love to see where life takes her in the next book of this series. Sadly, I found a few typos in the book and they seemed like the errors one makes when the book is not professionally edited. That is why I rate Lost and Love: Thailand 3 out of 4 stars. Without those errors, this would have been an easy 4-star rating. Lovers of the romance genre will enjoy this book, but the author makes use of profanity and explicit sex scenes so I would not recommend it to readers below the legal adult age.

I like your mention on body-positivity. I also noticed how Savannah seemed to blossom emotionally when she stopped judging her appearance and embraced her sexuality. It can be hard for me to find a romance that I enjoy because of some outdated concepts in certain novels, but this book did a great job at modernizing relationships and the struggles that today's couples can relate to. Great review!

This is not a genre I tend to read because it makes me uncomfortable, but I like that you mentioned that the book has a body-positive message. I also like the travel aspect, I always love learning about new places. Great review!

Thank you. The descriptions of Thailand and all the wonderful activities were very vivid.

I have been to Thailand once, but I wasn't able to enjoy it much because it was an official trip with my boss (Sigh!) and officemates. I hope to visit again, although I doubt if I will go to the erotic places, LOL!

I wonder if Savannah was successful in rekindling the fire in her marriage.

More of this should be coming, body positivity should also be in our daily teachings and advice, alot of persons are depressed because they lack positive body acknowledgement .
