This was my first read written by B Hughes-Millman. It took me a little while to get into the story line due to all the detailed character descriptions, but once Jamie's past unfolded and it was revealed that she was on a mission from God my interest was peaked until the end. Jamie's purpose on Earth was revealed that she was a dark angel that was sent here to save souls by fighting demons in her dreams. Each dream is a life threatening mission that could have her killed and never to wake up if she loses the battle. The book had lots of twists including a secret past life and unique relationships which involved both of the men trying to help her stay alive. I was caught by surprise at the role her co-worker/friend played in the book. I did not expect that from her initial introduction as the giddy, air-headed assistant. Overall, it was an very interesting and vividly detailed story. I am rooting for Jamie to deal with her love/hate feelings for Collin and make the relationship work especially after the revelation at the end. Hopefully more will be revealed in part two, but I have a feeling that drama and death will always be a major part of Jamie's life. I give this book a 3 out of 4 rating and recommend it if readers like the paranormal, fantasy genre.
