Reading Happy Healing reminded me I am also a body. I tend to believe I am only mind and feelings. Giving your own body a voice, and allowing me to interact with it, is a radical idea that I have never seen before but opens many new options for healing me. I enjoyed the reading for it opened my mind and allowed me to learn more about myself.

The book reminded me of different healing techniques like Reiki or Yoga as it explains the particular Happy Healing technique developed by Dominique Bourlet, the author. How my feelings and emotions affect my body, or how my body is helping me figure out my feelings and emotions, gave me a lot to think about and also a lot to work with.

Yet, I needed to read the book more than once. The author suggests you read only some chapters if you are a healer or therapist, or if you are someone experiencing pain, a patient. I decided to be both and read the complete book but it got a bit confusing. The technique is not explained step by step, but more like iterative views that get into the more deeper levels as you go. Every iteration gives you more details, and in the end, you get the whole picture. But the picture is not presented in a straight forward way.

The book also challenges traditional views on healing, but I also felt it tried to take me into what seems a rigid view of the steps of Happy Healing developed by the author. I chose to read it as a different perspective, and follow the exercises and examples adapting them to my own particular view. It helped, my pain went away. My desire to get a balance between my body and mind got reinstated.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I recommend the book whether you are a healer or a patient, and you want to find new ways to be one with your body.
