The title Who told you that you were naked?
by William Combs fully conveys the content of the book. The book was published by Carpenter’s Son Publishing. Book’s ISBN is 978-1-945507-23-6. William Combs is a retired Presbyterian minister who has Master of Divinity and Doctor Ministry degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary. This is a purely spiritual book which talks about how sin got into the world through Adam and Eve. And how it made the Lord place a curse on humans and the serpent.a refreshing reexamination of the garden of Eden
In the book, the serpent having seen that Eve was weak, convinced her to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Later, when Adam finally ate the fruit as he was convinced by his wife, it was only then that they realized that they were naked. This truly meets the title of the book, “Who told you that you were naked?”.
After being cursed by God, the only remedy for human was Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came to teach faith, healing and rest in God's abode. Jesus Christ stated that man’s little faith made things impossible but once man learn to build on a strong faith he could do all the unthinkable. Jesus Christ healed the leper and the centurion’s servant who was near death.
Jesus Christ however is also a descendant of Adam and he also inherited sin. He however rebuked sin and did not let it kill his spiritual being. Nonetheless he still had to die for all our sins, even after asking God to let that death pass him by if God wished. It is true that God is righteous and hate sin so much that He couldn’t let Jesus escape death even as His only beloved son. This greatly indicates that God will place judgement on anyone associated with sin.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it enlightens greatly about sin and its bad effects and how one can also achieve all things through faith. Through faith we will also have rest in God as well as gain healing powers as Jesus Christ had. I must mention that the book has some errors with regards to arrangement of text. Some words were hyphenated because it was placed at the end of a line. These words could have been fully spelt on the next line, which would be great.
I recommend this book as a must read book for all spiritual believers for much insight about the word of God and the Bible. This book tells that life itself is full of sin that is why it is essential to have great perspective about hidden events to enable us to stand very firm in all that may come our way. Read this book so you can learn more about reasons why things happen in certain ways. Example is that God placed a curse that the snake will bite human heels and humans will crush it’s head. However if you follow Paul’s teachings that “what good he intends to do he can’t but only the bad ones that he wants not that he does” then you would realize it is not only you that is having problems fighting sin but even Jesus Christ and the apostles who came before us. For we fight not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of darkness. Read more to understand certain concepts of this world in order to easily overcome them.
