Mutually Exclusive and Collectively Exhaustive for short MECE; a written book by Christie Lindor who is now a management consultant, speaker, expert mentor, podcast host, and career reinventionist; saying “ I wrote this book for go-getters who want to be great”.
MECE is a kind of book where you can learn about techniques, discipline, and leadership. It is collectively exhaustive since Christie Lindor studied it for 16 years to compile this book where everyone can benefit. MECE is more on an application in the real life of being a businessman and a woman, and especially consultants. As I go deeper and deeper, I conclude that this book is not just for business and consultant person; it is for everybody who has difficulty in training their selves. There are so many inspirational quotes taken from different authors and sayings that can give you motivation to being great, example “leadership is not about a popularity contest; it is about having the courage to lead”. Christie Lindor wants her readers to know the possible solution when dealing a client, especially in the consulting field, because the author wants the best of her reader and she wants them to be prepared whatever situations they may encounter; as what she has written in her book, “My goal with this book is to create a standard definition of what great consulting looks like in a non-divisive, empathetic way.”
I like the book because it is very inspirational when I read the first page I thought I will get bored since it’s all about business and consulting field, but I was surprised because I didn’t expect that I can benefit it, though I’m not in the business and consulting field. What I don’t like is the technical words, but it was great because I learned plenty of new words.
I recommend this book for those business minded people; the junior and senior student who is in the field of consulting; consultants; and to those people who want to train themselves to be a better person.
I rate it 3 out of 4 stars because it is a complete package for the person who wants to read the book. There are few errors in grammar but it won't affect the idea of what the author wants to purport to its readers. I do not give it 4 because of the few errors and not 2 because it is commendable to any age that can read and understand.
The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward. Amelia Earhart.
