Unveil your Intimate Self, by Elena Georgiadou, is about the human state of awareness, or lack thereof. Georgiadou explains to the reader that, from childhood, we are conditioned by our surroundings, schooling, religion, etc. This conditioning continues throughout our life, leaving us very limited and often plagued with a deep sense of dissatisfaction. Because we trap ourselves within the false limitations we have learned, we are never able to recognize and tap into our full potential.

The book is broken down into sections that educate the reader on different aspects of awareness and fulfillment. Important tools are included, such as how to let go of painful memories, free ourselves from toxicity, and develop habits that will help us to lead healthier lives and recognize our purpose.

The book as a whole is very informative. Georgiadou challenges the readers perceptions of their reality and encourages them to break free from those confines and tap into the infinite power of awareness. The combination of science, observation, and spiritual teachings make for an interesting and diverse read. Usually the ideas and explanations are easy to follow.

However, there are also times where the text seems to ramble on and lead the reader in circles. The section about the levels of reality and consciousness in particular did not break down into digestible information. These complex topics were instead explained as if to a colleague in this field who already has a full understanding and can keep up without issue. The average reader may therefore have to reread certain sections to ensure full comprehension. I found this to be a bit tiresome.

Other than the occasional overwhelmingly complex sections, the book is helpful and easy to understand. I enjoyed the step by step instructions provided for certain suggested practices, and how some information was broken down into lists.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to let go of their past, embrace healthier living practices, optimize their way of thinking, or find and fulfill their life purpose. Because of the nature of the book, which talks about the divine, levels of consciousness, visualization and manifestation, and many other alternative ideas, I would not recommend this book to those who are close-minded or only want purely scientific information.

Overall, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. Sometimes the preachy tone and discussion of elaborate ideas without enough simplification for the average reader are cumbersome. But the sections that are adequately explained offer great insight into the disconnect from our true selves as the source of our unhappiness, and provide excellent tools to help the reader improve.
