Who Told You That You Were Naked?: A Refreshing Reexamination of the Garden of Eden is a biblically-based book which talks about Adam and Eve's Fall from grace in the Garden of Eden and how Christians can redeem themselves and draw closer to God with faith by stopping resisting the temptation of sin and focusing on Christ.

Surprisingly, I really appreciated this book. The writing is fluid and easy to understand even for non-Christians. While the author gives his own point of view on the matter, he did an amazing job of making his work as clear and complete as possible by supporting it with excerpts from the scriptures and even personal testimonies. Combs uses the first-person style of narration to emphasize the fact that it's his personal opinion and feeling, and I find it more enjoyable that way and it allows us to have a glimpse of the author's mind at the same time.

Who Told You That You Were Naked? is very professional and Combs's perfect knowledge on the subject is remarkable. Besides the scriptures' excerpts, he also surprises me by giving the etymology of some words and the multiple representations which result from them. This show of patience and thoroughness made me appreciate even more my reading.

While this book may appear to be only for Christians, every person who is interested in the subject can read it without even knowing the scriptures. I myself am agnostic and I admit that I didn't agree with him on many points and even thought at times that this was almost ridiculous, but I respect everyone's religious views and didn't hold it against the book itself because it is supposed to be just that: the religious view of the author. So even if you're an atheist, it can always be useful and interesting to read about this subject; it isn't immediately a book to reject.

I found very few mistakes, if not none, seeing as the book is published by a publishing company. Despite my personal beliefs, I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. I tried in vain to search for something that could be reproached for, but I didn't find anything. The professionalism with which the book was written and the sources that come along with it make Who Told You That You Were Naked? a great book. To those who have a very precise opinion on religion and can't bear to read a different view on the subject, you may want to go on your way.

I can't decide on this book. I can't tell if it is someone preaching at me or not. I really enjoyed "First Family" which was just the Adam and Eve story without a hint of religion really playing a part. This is a great review, thanks!
