Roadmap to The End of Days By Daniel Friedmann is an intriguing book written about the history of time and how history will eventually come to an end. The book is based on the writings of the Abrahamic faiths, mostly concerning Judaism and Christianity. Friedmann explains how history follows a pattern and how it’s repeating itself throughout time. Also, the idea of free will and a divine plan are explored in a way that shows our choices lead us through a maze with the exit being the completion of a divine plan.
The rating I give this book is a 3 out of 4. The reason for my rating being 3 instead of 4 is due to the book seeming confusing at times because the concepts discussed are very complex. Friedmann covers many themes relating to the Bible and the Torah, and without a background knowledge of the Abrahamic faith, the writing can be very perplexing.
I myself have studied the Abrahamic faith and was able to keep up but found myself struggling to continue reading the book because it’s nonfiction and mostly fact-based. However, the book is not long and can be read in less than a day if you are feeling concentrated. I gave the book a high rating because it’s very well written with no grammar mistakes that I could find, and it is a very interesting topic.
The book brings up concepts that will cause you to rethink history and look at our human history as a puzzle waiting to be completed instead of random occurrences with no meaning or end. I enjoyed piecing together human history along with the author from the very beginning of the world (according to biblical history) to the speculated end. Friedman writes about how our history has clues riddled all throughout it, all pointing to a divine creator with a plan.
Reading Friedmann’s studies will open your eyes to concepts you never imagined could be true, but with the amount of evidence provided in the book, it just might be enough to change how you see the world. Still, Friedmann does not attempt to convince you about religion or god, he simply presents his findings and lets you decide what to do with them. You have to read the book for yourself to see if you will see the speculations and evidence as truth or mere coincidences. I highly recommend the book to those who enjoy studying religion and higher powers, it is very thought provoking and raises many philosophical questions.
