Who Told You That You Were Naked?

This important question was asked a lot time ago by God himself to our first parents Adam and Eve when they were hiding from him. And this question, I understand now, is the key to discern what has been the immense problem of sin and death that has devastated humanity since Eden to the present day.

If we want to delve into the history of humanity from the garden until this day, and God's redemptive solution through faith in Jesus Christ, we must read this precious book written by William E. Combs.

In this book he shows us from a different point of view, in the light of the eternal word of God, what is exactly the knowledge of good and evil, salvation only by faith, and the calling of God for our lives.

Guided by the holy spirit, William E. Combs changes our way to perceive the concepts of sin and death, and our own attempts to return to God. He compares our own efforts with a penlight, and God's redemptive solution with the splendor of the aurora borealis.

When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, suddenly they felt embarrassed and naked in front of each other and in addition they were ashamed of their nakedness. The author explains how this nakedness is reflected now in the way we respond to the circumstances of our life, our sense of inadequacy, and our eagerness to be superior to others.

"In the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Death is separation and alienation. Now we experience physical death, relational death and spiritual death as a consequence of the entrance of sin into our world. But God started his redemption plan immediately after the fall and we can now be free through faith in Jesus Christ who suffered God's punishment in our place.

It is for that reason that we can now walk in the way of God, establishing a relationship by faith with Christ as the Lord of our lives, and God provides in his amazing grace three avenues to assist us in our walk with him: the Bible, God's voice, and his peace. The author shows us that we are not alone! Christ is with us in every step! Thanks be to God.

I think this book is well written and it fills all its expectations of being a powerful light that illuminates our christian path. It encourages us now more than ever to be the salt of the earth and light of the world. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars and I am gratefull to have had the opportunity to read it because of the changes it has made in my life. Now I feel a more victorious christian person, now I have a real faith, now I can say with Paul: "If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord."

Thank you for your review. It sounds like a very good book for those who believe in Christianity. I like that the author delves into the history of humanity from the garden. All I really know is the basic story of Adam and Eve. I think I'd find this book very insightful and inspiring.

Hmm...I like when people actually read and decide for themselves what is being said rather than just listening to other people's interpretations and leaving it at that. It takes courage to speak one's truth, even more courage to write it down. I find the author's viewpoint interesting. Interesting enough to check it out for myself, even though I normally stay away from this genre. In my opinion, there's too many people that believe that they are right, and everyone else is wrong, and there can be no other way to look at it. Kudos to the author for looking from a different perspective. Kudos to you for writing an interesting review.
