Real Secrets of life by Krishna Jagarnath,is a book that contains good guidelines on how to make the most of life. For instance, the application of a triple filter test of: is it true, good or useful to the recipient before any information is passed. Hence, any piece of information that does not meet the criteria above, should not be shared. The way to true peace and happiness in life being in asking and doing what God wants.

Even though I am a Christian, I like his ability to unify all religions by describing the basic tenets of each; such as the existence of God (the Divine), who has the largest influence on everything that can happen to man, the immortal nature of man, and the presence of the divine in man. I found very insightful, the teaching on karma (what you sow is what you reap). However I don’t totally agree with all. Although the law of karma makes us take responsibility for our actions and fate in life, it is not certain if the reaping or consequences for wrong actions is felt immediately or after death. Also, if people are purified by karma and reincarnation after death until they are fit to enter heaven, then who goes to hell? I also did not understand what it means for a person to possess the ability to access all dimensions of time (past, present and future) while on earth.

The foods to avoid during pregnancy mentioned are good, but the recommended ones listed are few and are not easily accessible in my country. I would have loved to know more of them. I like the couples’ advice on conception and child training. So true is the fact that the self limiting beliefs and fears of the parents are often put into the children rather than making them believe that they can achieve anything they are determined to. The knowledge that the ears are the first organs to develop in a fetus is useful. Hence, because the sounds it is exposed to at that stage matters, an expectant mother should listen to good spiritual songs and make positive declarations during pregnancy.

I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is because it contained quite a few typographical errors such as in the quote “As you sow, sow shall you reap” on page five of the book. Also, the word God was begun with a small letter g on some pages, which made me wonder at some point if he was referring to the same God he mentioned previously.

I think the book could be read by anyone; but the spiritual exercises recommended in it should be applied with caution so as not to be hypnotized by fraudsters in the name of spiritual exercises.
