While reading When No One Else Believed, I was struck by the nearly seamless way the factual account and spiritual lessons were merged into a soul-searching story. The challenges that the author and his wife faced were critical and had a deep impact on those close to them, as well as strangers who heard their tale.

The book was very well edited, as I noticed no errors while reading. I found a good range of vocabulary, and well-thought-out sentence structure. There were some switches back and forth on the timeline, but they were marked clearly and any necessary background was given.

I found the book to be an awe-inspiring and heartfelt account of a miracle. It challenged the way I look at the world and at my faith. Reliance on God, his promises and timing, and his path for each of us were clear messages, as well as the importance and effect of genuine prayer. I would recommend this book to family and friends, both believers and unbelievers alike.

I do feel the book is more geared toward those of a Christian faith or at least a belief in the existence of God. This may be a drawback as it limits the target audience, but I do applaud the author’s bravery in sharing this personal journey, and recognize the impact it may have on those of other faiths if they choose to read it.

On a rating scale of 1-5, I would give this book a 4, as it was well-written and enjoyable to read. There were a few points where the jumps in the timeline seemed to interrupt the flow of the book and stop the momentum of the story that had been building. I also think there could be some slight improvement of the wording in places, but it didn’t cause a major distraction from the book or its message.
