Review of Entrepreneurship: 5 Best Practices for Stay-At-Home-Moms who want to start an Online Business
Title: Entrepreneurship: 5 Best Practices for Stay-At-Home Moms who want to start an Online Business
Author: Joy Jennings
Parents recognise their responsibilities. Nominally, mothers are the subject of this book. Their lives have changed after having children, and so have their commitments and emotions. There are a lot of child-rearing and household-orientated chores, with the accompanying financial constraints that come with these responsibilities. There are times every day when everything is quiet, and many mothers feel unfulfilled and need to do something 'outside of the family routine'. This book is all about what can be done and lays the groundwork. All that is needed is, Joy Jennings writes, 'a laptop, a network and idea', and, of course, enthusiasm.
It was interesting to read that worldwide, women own 36% of all small businesses. Mothers have an exceptional aptitude for business, perhaps coming from the domestic responsibilities that parenthood brings. As a parent, everything has to be fine-tuned and balanced, much like business.
There are many options available, including e-commerce stores, YouTube creation, online coaching and Google ads management, to name but a few. Niche is an important word, as well as the all-important market research aspect. There is software that can help, called CRM or Customer Relationship Management.
The book is well written and slightly breathless in its tone: Joy Jennings is knowledgeable and, from her writing, enthusiastic. The sections are set out nicely, and her prose will encourage, stimulate, and calm any budding home-based parent out there.
The book goes into the subject of finances in some detail and, thankfully, uses vocabulary that the average non-corporate person will be able to understand. It was a short book, and it hit the spot.
I did not see any grammatical errors. Her enthusiasm was catching, and I am now wondering if there's something I can sell! Her enthusiasm is catching, prompting the reader to feel as if the world is their oyster. I found nothing to dislike and will award this short, instructive book five out of five stars.
