When the realities of a failed marriage and midlife crises struck, Andrew Pace sought to be better in his relationships. Delightful Hands (DH) intimates its readers on pleasuring a woman to the fullest with a hand full, literally speaking, of techniques rather than overexerting the usually overrated phallus. Therefore, DH's promise to its readers is that practising the techniques presented in the book is certain to heighten a woman's sexual satisfaction always.

In the beginning, DH clarifies the differences between men and women's sexual trajectories, the need for men to appreciate the uniqueness of the female sexuality, and the idiosyncrasies that can accompany each woman. Moving on to the technique themselves, DH takes the reader gradually through various levels of sexual stimulation until orgasm is reached. It provides many pointers to ensure the establishment of a great foreplay, a prerequisite for sexual satisfaction. It also describes various techniques that can be used in stimulating the many (often ignored) erotic zones of a woman, all of which are useful aids to achieve orgasm. DH also addresses problems that can arise due to the presence of children, men's insecurities concerning their phallic sizes, and communication between a couple.

The book is easy to read and it is very helpful that the author uses models to illustrate certain positions and techniques. But the models were not always used. This leaves the reader to carefully imagine some of the positions. Also, reading the book at some points made lovemaking quite robotic as though one were mindlessly following a recipe in a cookbook such as, knead for 5 seconds, lower the heat for 15 seconds, swirl for 3 seconds, wait 10 seconds then change position. However, this is exactly what the book promises, a step-to-step guide for attaining maximum sexual satisfaction. As you can also imagine, in real life, it should not feel robotic, and secondly as with most things in life, practice makes better.

Notwithstanding, the real-life experiences of the author included are by far the most exciting parts for me because they put the techniques discussed in perspective. It is no longer like mindlessly following instructions in a cookbook but an application of the techniques in a real-life situation. Ellie, Ann, and Fay are three very different women with different sexual backgrounds and needs. Through trial and error, communication, determination, and a strong willingness to learn, these three were able to achieve orgasm through varying routes. Hence, DH instructs its readers to make a good use of the techniques explained without undermining the necessity for practice, hard work, and a willingness to learn.

Often times, resources may focus on extreme Kamasutra-like positions as the needed routes for women to achieve orgasm. Sometimes they cannot be attempted because they could become boring, or they should not be attempted due to physical, health or other restraints. DH does not encumber its reader with extremities of this sort. For its clarity, details, and most importantly the author's sincerity, I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. DH could greatly benefit from an efficient use of models and better presentation of instructions. This book is definitely a must-read for matured audiences seeking greater sexual pleasure, particularly in relationships involving women. It might just be the information needed for better sexual experiences.
