By Invitation Only by Nicholas L. Maze is a book filled with biblical truths, urging believers and non-believers alike to accept God’s invitation and allow Him to lead us to the next stage in our spiritual journey. It encourages us to flee from the devil and the deceitful tactics he uses to lure people to Hell and reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus endured for our good.

I really liked the inclusion of specific Bible chapters and verses that back up the affirmations and advice Maze gives to the reader. It lent credibility to the teachings. This book was something of a wake-up call for me, reminding me how easy it is to fall for the world’s lies. We need to look towards the higher, better picture of God. Maze talks about the power of the mind; he talks about the danger of allowing the enemy to control your mind because from there the devil can control your actions and your body. He also discusses the danger of being lukewarm. You have to be all in with your faith in God.

Maze reminds us that the world will throw trials at us, but the important thing is not to lose faith in God. In Christ, we can do all things, including weather any storm. As he says, we are made in God’s likeness, and even a drop of God in us is enough to overtake any enemy. I liked that the book emphasised how our battles are God’s to fight, and all we have to do is trust him.

This book was a great afternoon read and it very much spoke to my soul. God speaks through Maze in this book. There was nothing in it I disliked. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5, and I would recommend it to anyone feeling lost in this world.
