This review is for the audiobook All You’ll Never Be by E.L. Neve. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook in part because of the narrator’s pleasant voice and the addition of instrumental music. The author notes the music was added in order to compensate for the lack of pictures in the audio format. This definitely was a wonderful addition to the book.

Just as the title All You’ll Never Be suggests, the author undertakes the task of proving that it is a good thing for listeners to think about what they will not be in life and come to terms with the idea that acceptance of this fact is positive and will benefit their lives. This book encourages listeners to accept who they are and who they are becoming without regard to the rest of society. I appreciate how the author not only makes suggestions, but also gives examples in everyday life that can connect to those theories. Many times instruction is given without any practical application. This is not the case in this book. The author offers advice but does not force ideas or life alterations. It is clear that the author cares about the readers and only desires to help their lives improve.

The author shows insight into life and helps the listeners understand they are unaware of much of what is happening around them and should open their eyes and minds to observation and acceptance. There is some mention of religion, but the author doesn’t point to one specific religion or theory to follow.

Because this book is an audiobook and no captions or text is available, there are no obvious errors. The illustrations on the cover of the book are cute and whimsical. The author reads their own book, adding obvious emotion and connection to the story. However, it is read at quite a slow pace. One can speed up the narration speed, but this distorts the natural pauses. I would rate this book at a 4 out of 5.
