Who Told You That You Were Naked? by William Combs, delves deeper about sin and the transition from the Old Testament which started with Adam and Eve, to the New Testament when Jesus healed multitudes of people. This non-fiction book talks about nakedness and its different meaning, in connection to the Book of Genesis from the Bible. In addition, this book doesn’t just speak about the original sin, but if you want to be inspired with stories about faith, miracles and healing, you may want to immerse yourself with the author’s different personal testimonies.

This book contains a lot of bible verses which both bible and non bible readers can relate to. The author explains simply the meaning of each verse, which makes the book very easy to read. In the first part of the book, which talks mostly about nakedness and the original sin, the author offers different perspectives of the meaning of nakedness, this makes you also rethink about your own viewpoint. Also, it takes a closer look on Adam and Eve in the Book of Genesis which relates about sin and nakedness and transitions smoothly to Jesus Christ and salvation in the New Testament.

I like how the author highlights key points and phrases, not just for the sake of reiteration but to instill to the readers the importance of such phrases. Furthermore, I like that there are study questions after each chapter. The series of questions provide good personal introspection which makes this book a good material for reflection, group discussions or personal awareness.

What I like best is that the author relates personal testimonies about faith, hope, miracles and God’s healing. Bible scriptures are explained in each chapter, peppered with stories from the author’s experiences in association with God’s word. I enjoyed reading this book by chapter, as I can fully immerse myself with the main topic that is specifically talked about in each chapter. The book is also filled with metaphors which I love and can relate to. I believe that Christians will really enjoy this material from Combs. The book looks professionally edited as I only found 2 grammatical errors.

I strongly recommend this book, as reading it made me more knowledgeable about the Bible. I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. It’s well explained, informative and beautifully written book about God's scriptures; added bonus points for being an easy read. This is definitely a great supplemental bible study material.
