Natural Relief for Anxiety and Stress is a non-fiction book by M.D. Gustavo Kinrys and psychologist Alexandra Gold. Being a survivor of depression, I was greatly influenced to select this book.

From the title, it is clear that this amazing book is dedicated to the problems of anxiety and stress which later cause depression and suicidal tendencies. The authors opine that people remain unconscious about their problems and seek professional help much later. As both authors are from medical backgrounds, they provide detailed symptoms of anxiety and stress, mention various anxiety relief pills and their side effects, and talk about different foods and herbs to tackle the problems associated with anxiety.

Here, the authors highlight the importance of yoga, meditation, physical exercise, healthy food habits, and practising forgiveness. They openly discuss breathing techniques, mindfulness, acupuncture, aromatherapy, music therapy, noise therapy, and the use of different apps in tackling anxiety and depression. They emphasise the importance of a patient's effort and understanding to cope with anxiety.

The authors mention Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which plays a vital role in harnessing anxiety. They suggest excluding toxic people and incorporating a positive atmosphere around us to maintain a healthy environment. Though this book is a guidebook to tackle anxiety, the authors also depict the positive role of anxiety, which, in moderation, acts as a positive catalyst in executing different challenges.

I like how the authors keep the chapters pithy and easy to comprehend for all readers. Their narrative style is flowy even though it is full of scientific information. The mention of yoga and Ayurveda made me nostalgic, as they are derived from my country. Again, the appendix and the tables at the end help me understand their advice properly.

I have nothing to say against this book. It is praiseworthy with its flawless professional editing which is without any typos. This book deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of its clear narration depicting a way out from a major issue in our modern world. I want to recommend this book to all who want to harness their anxiety issues effectively.
