In the nonfiction book, Fasting Firepower, as the name implies, the author talks about how fasting has helped great personalities of the past be disciplined, focused, and vision-driven, effectively helping them achieve their goals. Reading this book made me realize how fasting can help me achieve my goals by being disciplined and focused. The author made mention of different scientists like Pluto, Aristotle, and others, alongside their inventions that were brought to light while fasting.

The author, Marjan, highlights the health benefits of fasting; he describes how fasting can serve as an effective method for treatment of illness in men; he also describes fasting as the “Operation without Surgery.” I like how the book opened my mind to the health benefits that come with fasting; it successfully changed my perspective of fasting from being a punishment to being a practice that will benefit me greatly health-wise.

I also like how Marjan highlighted the spiritual benefits and spiritual significance of fasting and how it is being practiced by people of different religions, from Buddhism religion to Christian religion. The book mostly focuses on the Christian faith, and it provides evidence of the spiritual significance of fasting in the religion using bible verses and quotations. Marjan provided biblical references that I can attest to as a Christian that prove and back up the knowledge of this book.

I have no knowledge of how our lifestyle and environment can be harmful to us sometimes, not until I read how fasting performs a detoxification function that helps our body detoxify itself from harmful toxins that are present in our body as a result of our eating habits and other environmental factors.

I am certain that Marjan's book will help us become more aware of our health and spiritual wellbeing. One feature of the book that I love the most is Marjan's provision of guidance and steps on how and when to fast and the different types of fasting. He did a great job by putting down this important information in detail. This makes the book a complete guide to fasting.

Personally, reading this book has become an eye-opener to the importance of fasting for my health. I now realize that the benefits and importance of fasting cannot be overemphasized, especially the wonderful benefits and effects it has to our vital organs such as the liver, kidneys, and lungs. I love how the author explained how fasting helps these vital organs in a very practical way in the book.

I found absolutely nothing to dislike about the book, and for this, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The book was also flawlessly edited. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be disciplined in fasting and learn more about fasting and its benefits. This book will surely serve as a great guide to helping them achieve their goals.
