Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's A Dream for Peace is an actual narrative of a great diplomat who served throughout his life to bring peace to the world. Algerian-born Berrah has had struggles and success from rags to reach the position he has, and such a position gives him so much influence on the global society for a noble course that sometimes seems near impossible to achieve. The book deals with the life of Berrah, the freedom fighter, his missions to war-torn countries, and his sincere efforts to create peace and harmonious relations among the nations. From and because of his position, readers get to witness such aspects as negotiations, cultural interactions, efforts to give up, and numerous other sacrifices for the sake of peace.

Berrah is portrayed as a multifaceted and quite charismatic character motivated by two main virtues: love, with a special emphasis on the possibility of a connection. It just shows how this man, despite all the hardship he experiences in life, remains optimistic and willing to look for compromise. The book also provides the reader with biographies of the world leaders, diplomats, and activists who were instrumental in Berrah’s drama. A Dream for Peace is a book that raises many questions and presents the topic of diplomacy in a fresh and very engaging manner. Vivid stories from Berrah and his understanding of modern processes behind international relations give the reader a unique and valuable look into the modern world.

It is the wish of the Berrah that the book could have included more accounts of the culture and region where Berrah went through his ordeal. This would make the readers accommodate the fact that the regions that he visited are hard and complex to manage. I will give A Dream for Peace a 5 out of 5 star rating.

The editing of the work seems impressive, with no apparent flaws as seen in the book. This book is ideal for persons who have a desire to learn about international relations and diplomacy and search for the wish for peace. I found it insightful and said it is worth recommending to anyone in need of ideas and a glimpse of what the world is facing at the moment.
