Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann

Curiosity of human being was always characterized with attempts to decode sense of creation, in its origins and its end. Daniel Friedmann offers interesting theory by correlating biblical times as described in Torah and Old Testament with present time, predicting in this ways possible roads which will eventually lead to End of Days. Accordingly, entire time of human history can be divided into equal time portions therefore making possible to correlate what is described in holly scripts with what actually happens or will happen. Theory in background is that if we in this way know or can determine time of creation, consequently moment of Ending can be predicted. Author claims: future is predictable because history is rhythmical. And Divine Plan is by default to lead to End of Days as a de facto purpose of Creation.

Interesting concept which certainly challenge various non-religious views on history. For example, determinism, since although there is ultimate goal for Divine Plan, we can change history by obeying rules given by God. What is not clear about this concept are period in history in which End of Days is somehow avoided. And if everything is already determined, what happened in critical periods so that End of Days is avoided.

Daniel Friedmann is scientist and very good writer. Style which he uses to elaborate his theory is clearly scientific, supported by a lot of references and very argumentative. However, history is science. And references in this books are based on religious scripts about which science itself has doubt if those can be take as relevant historical sources. And what about other religious sources and views. Where they can find place in explanation of history and its end. Therefore, it is difficult to claim that this book is scientific. It is rather religious explanation of history and time.

It seems that still there is no explanation of creation. Or if we accept point that our purpose is to fulfill Divine Plan, what are motives behind attempts to explain it: is it to change history, to avoid End of Days, to stay strong in front of Amalek or to be well prepared for Messianic Era.

In my opinion, book can be rated with 2 out of 4 stars. Writing style and way in which book keeps with thematic is very good organized and presented. So, I would say, technique of writing and presentation is at the level of very talented and experienced scientist. However, it is not based on scientifically verified sources, so theory presented stays in region of religious beliefs of every single writer.
