The book, Who Told You That You Were Naked, by Bill Combs, is a delightful exploration about the original sin, and how God’s everlasting forgiveness and guidance is essential in our daily lives. It originally covers the first sin, the eating of the forbidden fruit, and how it led to our vanity. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can overcome our “nakedness” and gain confidence in our everlasting life.

I really enjoyed this book, as it was very well written, and insightful. A Christian myself, this was an excellent reminder to find the everyday reminders that God has put in place for us to remember to put Him as our foundation. So often, the stresses of daily life and sins of common situations distract one from their true purpose, and this quick read helps remind one of his or her ultimate salvation through Jesus Christ.

I also really enjoyed how this book focuses on the fact that we are all sinners, regardless of how “pure” we are portrayed in society. Rather than focus on how good of a person we are in general, this book focuses on our natural sinful nature, and helps put emphasis on God to forgive us of our sins. The book uses personal testimonials to help put the Biblical study into perspective. The book also provides a study guide at the end of each chapter, to help encourage its’ use as a weekly bible study.

First focusing on the story of Adam and Eve along with the Garden of Eden and the forbidden fruit, the book focuses on further bible stories, and how the original sin originates to our innate human struggles with self-consciousness in society. We use the words “exposed” and “nakedness” when discussing a humiliating situation, and this book helps explain why. It was very interesting and enlightening to learn how the origin of our species and their story of the forbidden fruit contribute to our feelings on this matter.

In conclusion, I give the book Who Told You That You Were Naked by Bill Combs four out of four stars, because of three reasons. For one, the book was very well written in general, with no spelling or grammatical errors, with a well laid out design. Secondly, the book was informative and taught me about my faith and myself. Thirdly, the book is easy to understand and explain to others. I recommend this book either for personal reflection, or as material for an adult bible study.
