Ghoulem Berrah’s book A Dream for Peace is a memoir about his life history and experiences right from childhood during his days at Aïn Beïda, where he was born in Algeria at the time of the French colony, to his accomplishments and successful retirement at an old age.

The author was an Ivorian ambassador, and he was also known for his activism. He completed his secondary education in France, after which he earned a scholarship to study at the University of Bordeaux in France. Berrah’s activism caused him a lot of troubles as he fought against discrimination and other forms of oppression. Notwithstanding the difficulties, he later found a way out of France. The author completed his education in America. He went on to achieve his dreams as a scientist, and he even became the Special Advisor of the then President, Houphouët-Boigny. The author's life is an inspiration to many, and I would love you to get a copy of the book so you can read about him.

I found a lot of positive aspects to this book. The inspiring narrative that intricately unfolds the author's journey with meticulous attention to detail is one of the aspects that really made the book an exceptional one. The author's life experience and achievements inspire me to do great things in life, and I was amazed when reading about the independence of Algeria. The book's depiction of Algeria and its struggle for independence significantly enriched my understanding of how they gained independence. The author's marriage across faiths—a Muslim marrying a Christian—beautifully showcases his deep respect for all cultures and religions.

I’m rating the book five out of five stars because of The book impacted me with a lot of knowledge, and I must clearly admit that I learned a lot from it. The book had some errors in it, which shows that it was professionally edited. I recommend this book to fans of nonfiction and historical books because they would learn a lot from it.
