who told You That you Were Naked? By William E. Combs Is a non fiction book about Adam and Eve and how they Look at each other after they have ate the forbidden fruit. The author tries to prove that this is the reason for our own insecurities with our own life and bodies. Thinking this might be good book with lots of points to be made I settled down for the day to read this book, boy was I disappointed.
Reviewing this book will be hard for me because the amount of anger I have after reading it, but I promise to be fair and honest to the best of my capabilities. William Combs seems to have a distorted view on how things were in The Garden of Eden and I am not sure if that is because he thinks it was that way or if he was just making it up to be part of a story. I noticed that He quoted conversations that the Lord was supposed to have with Adam that were never in the Bible. For that reason I felt like that was a mockery of the Lords words and was out of line. He tried to make it funny.
Serious things like the creation of man kind should not be turned into jokes. He also implies that Adam had a pet lamb on the Garden with him which was never mentioned in the Bible that could be his part of the reinvention of Eden. All of this stuff is to cutesy for me. Adam never asked for a soul mate the Lord just gave him one but yet in this he has it where Adam told the Lord he wanted a Soul mate. Can you see where Christians can see this book as a joke or a smack in the face?
He referred to the creation of Eve as a reconstruction surgery and a prehistoric post op, how can something so serious be taken so lightly? I am confused does he believe in God or is he trying to make a joke out of all of Gods works and our beliefs?
Last but not least he goes on talking about Cain and no one knowing why he was so angry and why he killed his brother. Read the Bible he is angry and killed his brother because he was jealous of him. No one questioned this only the people who did not research this or people who are not Christians. The more he writes in this books the more ridiculous he sounds. For the obvious reasons and because of his lack of knowledge of God and the subject of what he wishes to write about I rate this book 1 out of 4 stars.
