Health tips, myths, and tricks is by every means a spectacular book. It can easily be called “be enlightened”. The topic of the book is like a mirror into the content. A useful resource for staying safe, healthy and not wasting time and money.
I would recommend this book for everyone, but especially for those who have an interest in weight loss, healthy living, parenting, or you just want to gain further general medical knowledge. Its also a resourceful material for anyone who might be looking to try certain treatments, and methods, or you are just into fitness, this book may be all you need to save time and money.
The employed writing skill is tame enough to hold the interest of none medical enthusiasts, yet packed with necessary information to fortify even the minds of medical practitioners. While reading this book, the credibility and passion of the writer could almost be felt. Like most doctors, his professional opinion is made clear and he backs it up with clear arguments, research, and reasoning. It is also very useful that summaries were done at the end of its chapters. So, if you lack the enthusiasm to read about a topic you would still be able to benefit from what was discussed.
Most importantly, I like the way the writer interacts with your reality. Weather in myths that may have been picked up by the mind, scams you may have been a victim of, or health tips that you just may need. Who would have thought that warmups before exercising would fall into the category of myths. And it is very interesting how it goes on to call out health tv shows and point out their flaws and schemes.
While so interesting a book, it is not a very easy book to read. With so many research details to sift through, its hard not to skip through the researchers. Would have been a lot easier if the research and findings were clear-cut and precise. Readers may find such information, a little tedious to process, and boring too. Also, the arrangement of the topics could have been placed to accommodate everything about a topic, like; weight loss and relatable topics like health tips fashioned one after the other in an area while others like myths, acupuncture, scams, are grouped to come after, still in a topic relatable fashion. This is so a reader who is interested in weight loss may get all offered by the book without getting distracted by other information or having to go back to content for more information on a topic.
I would rate this book3 out of 4, because of how easy it is to relate it to your everyday experiences, and for a medical journal it pretty straightforward does what it says it will do; give advice on health tips, myths, and tricks.
